Starting to work with Cloe is best done by attending the Freedom of Acting Workshop. This five-day workshop teaches you how to overcome obstacles that prevent you from reaching your full acting potential. You'll also learn an effective, straightforward technique for analyzing scripts, helping you to be free, creative, and compelling in auditions, whether they're on stage, in person, or via self-tapes. Additionally, this workshop is a great opportunity for those new to acting or even those who haven't considered acting yet but want to clear away personal barriers and pave a way towards authenticity.
Cloe doesn't follow a single, named technique; instead, she uses a hands-on approach. Her teaching builds on what she learned from method acting and her time working with Susan Batson in NYC for seven years, before she started ACT IN. Cloe combines her own experience as an actress in Europe with the techniques from Susan Batson and insights from other mentors like Larry Moss. This blend creates a unique way of teaching that draws from different sources to help actors reach their full potential.
To truly harness your potential, both as a human being and as an actor, it's essential to foster a strong, resilient mindset. Over her 14 years of coaching, Cloe has observed that while many actors possess the technical skills for their craft, they often struggle with the emotional and psychological challenges of the industry, such as rejection, fear of auditions, envy, and the disappointment of not being selected for roles. These experiences, parallel to life's own trials, can shape your reality through limiting beliefs that hinder progress or deter you from trying again after setbacks. Champions, in any field, stand out not just because of their skill but also because of their mental strength. They train their minds to pursue excellence with as much dedication as they apply to their physical or technical training. The key to resilience, Cloe believes, is the ability to rise after falling, to continue moving forward against all odds. Understanding your 'WHY'—the underlying motivations and desires that drive your actions—empowers you to overcome any obstacle. This clarity of purpose ensures that, regardless of the challenges you face, you will find a way to succeed. What success looks like is personal; it could be mastering a role, overcoming personal limitations, or achieving a long-held dream. The crucial question is, what are you striving for?
